Parent and Carer Plea to Professionals in Healthcare Social Care and Education

A post for all professionals to think about……….

You tell me to ask for help

Then you slay me

You say to admit when I’m not coping

Then you betray me

You ask me to explain how I feel

Then you change what I’ve said

All of the things that you’ve done

Have just totally messed with my head

You say that you’re here to support

Then you change your report

You mention child protection, sections 47 and FII

You don’t seem to see the tears that I cry

Even when you do, you put me in a frame

You hang me out for all to see

And continue to parent blame

If you could just step back and see

What’s happening to my family

How my child is suffering at your hand

Maybe then you would try to understand

This war that you’ve created

Is not how it should be

You are supposed help my child and our family

You are supposed to keep an unbiased view

You should be trained to understand the disabilities too

This could have been dealt with differently

We could have collaborated, you and me

Instead, thanks to you. We have no support, no trust and I have PTSD
